Keep Your Health, Not Your Anxiety

Keep your Health, Not your Anxiety
12-19-15
Saturday
Happiness Day

Anxiety can become a disease
If it’s let to grow
Diseases are progressive
They only get worse

You need to cure that disease
Before it sets too deeply
If you don’t
You’ll continue to suffer

Anxiety destroys your health
Mentally and physically
It’s powerful
It’s course is predictive

Your mental state will deteriorate
And eventually so will your physical well being
Anxiety will increase
And worsen

Disease ends in death
Whether sudden or protracted
Always before it’s time
Choose your time

Don’t let your choice be made for you
Choose anxiety or choose happiness
The choice is yours
It’s up to you

Anxiety is a Disease

Anxiety is a Disease
12-18-15
Friday
Healthy Living Day
 Anxiety
It’s a disease
Diseases are departures from health
They are not good
Don’t depart from your health
Disease
It means to “dis”, to “separate from”
Don’t separate yourself from your health
Don’t choose
The disease of anxiety

Choose calm

Not dis-ease
Keep your “ease”
Ease is freedom from pain
Freedom from worry and agitation and anxiety
Choose serenity
Peace, love and joy
And Freedom
They are all calm
Choose them

Be calm!

Anxiety Is Everywhere

Anxiety is Everywhere
12-17-15
Thursday
Caring for Self Day

Anxiety is everywhere
It sure seems like it
So much bothers me.
When I’m anxious
I find it everywhere
I need to stop it
It’s spreading like a disease
Maybe it is

It’s here and it’s there
And it seems like it’s looking for me
Or am I looking for it?
Remember!
It’s a worry
And one worry leads to another
I’ve got to stop it

Anxiety
It lurks in every corner
It stares me in the face
And I welcome it
It sure seems that way
Because I’m always thinking about it
I just can’t stop it

Anxiety
Let’s find solutions
Let’s not make it our friend
I don’t really want it
It isn’t my friend
I’ll find the solutions
I’ll get the help I need
I will!

The Origin of Overreaction

The Origin of Overreaction
12-16-15
Wednesday
Relationship Day

Overreaction’s Origin
In the time of the Cave Man
She and he
Faced many dangers
It was the time for “fight or flight”
If you couldn’t outrun the beast
You had to fight him
It was the time to react swiftly

Fight or flight
It’s no longer that time
We no longer have the constant need
To physically protect ourselves
Or we better not think we do
That time is over
We must accept the new reality
It’s the time to think

Think and respond
Think calmly
Then and only then respond
The cave man now
Needs to be turned into
The Thinking Man
Homo Sapiens
The wise man

No more overreaction
Take a deep breath
Breath!
It’s time to respond
It’s time to think clearly and calmly
You will rarely come across a beast
It’s the time to think
It’s a time for wisdom

More on Overreaction

More on Overreaction
12-15-15
Tuesday
Child and Family

Overreaction
It’s the prelude to anxiety
Which is a worry about what might happen
Not just a concern
But a worry
Followed by another and another…

Worrying
It’s a troubled state of mind
It’s anxiety
It’s distress, it’s uneasiness
It’s not a healthy state
It’s not helpful

Overreaction
It leads to anxiety
But anxiety doesn’t build up
All by itself
It takes me to fuel the fire
Which I cause by my overreaction

We fuel the fire
It only burns as hot as we make it
It may first be just a flicker of a flame
Don’t overreact
By adding a new worry
That will make the fire grow

Stop the fire of anxiety
Don’t add on another worry
It will only make it worse
Stop!

Anxiety is an Overreaction

Anxiety is an Overreaction
12-14-15
Monday
Love Day

Anxiety is an Overreaction
I realize that because I frequently overreact
I’m beginning to recognize that
And it is not healthy

Overreaction
Involves reacting with more energy than is called for
And it is usually due to strong emotion
Unfortunately strong emotion inhibits rational thinking

Overreaction
Is usually unnecessary
It’s not a good habit
Because it creates anxiety

Overreaction
I sometimes overreact to people
But more generally I overreact within myself
And that’s how I cause my anxiety
Respond
It’s the substitute for reacting
It involves thinking clearly
And calmly

Clarity and calmness
They help prevent overreaction
Choose them
They are much healthier

More to come
Because we need to deal with this
It’s a major cause of anxiety
We need to resolve this tendency
To overreact

The Start of My Anxiety

The Start of My Anxiety
11-13-15
Sunday
Spirituality Day

The Start!
I wanted to be helpful
So I helped
I wanted to impress others
So I helped
I wanted to be liked
So I helped
And I got anxiety

Another start!
I didn’t do what I was supposed to do
And it built up
I put it off until later
And it built up
I said “yes’ when I should have said “no”
And it built up
And now I’ve got anxiety

A third start!
I looked for excitement
And I got it
I looked for trouble
And I got it
I looked for alcohol and drugs and more
And I got it
And I got anxiety too

Maybe it’s time to change the story
I’ve got to get out of this mess
It’s causing terrible anxiety
I’m going to do something about it
