How will I Become Your Friend?

How will I Become Your Friend?

Is it realistic to ask that question?

Hasn’t God always been pictured 

As distant and remote?

What would make me think differently?

Could He learn to be friendlier?

Wouldn’t it be nice

To have Him as a buddy?

A Guy I could shoot the breeze with.

Imagine, joshing around with God.

I could tell Him about this joke I just heard.

Maybe He hasn’t heard it yet.

Don’t you think God knows

How to be a friend?

No one ever talks about

How friendly He is.

What would stop him from being a close friend?

Would He worry about what people thought?

And maybe He’s a bit uptight, 

I’ve never seen Him smiling or laughing.

He’s probably not used to having friends,

It might be a bit awkward for Him,

He might be too busy

For friendship.

I don’t think the stuff above is really true,

I think we could be great friends,

I’m going to give it a try.

God communicate with us.

Doesn’t He communicate with you?

Maybe we’re not listening,

Or maybe we’re talking too much.

God wants to communicate with all of us.

But many of us don’t value communicating with God,

Or it wasn’t ever suggested to us,

Or even considered by us.

So what’s the value of communicating with God?

If we knew, maybe more of us

Would have a relationship with God.

Maybe he would become our friend.

Friends can be valuable.

They can be fun to be with.

And it’s nice to have someone to talk to,

Especially someone who’s very smart.

Communication 

Involves a relationship.

Would you like one with God?

It might be nice.

There’s still a lot more to talk about on this topic.

Of Course He Does

Does God Want to be My Friend?

Of course, He wants to be my friend.

He’s close to me.

He ought to be.

He made me.

Of course, He wants me to be His friend.

He wants me to be close to Him.

I ought to be.

He made me.

Imagine what a friend He would make.

He could only be

A perfect friend,

Because God does everything perfectly.

I think God would like it,

If I became His friend.

I think both of us would like it.

And the world would be a better place.

What a friend He would make,

Always faithful,

Always there,

Always caring.

What a world it would be!

I Want to be God’s Friend 

I want to be God’s friend.

I want to be close to Him.

I want a relationship with Him.

I want to get to know Him even better.

Let’s see what the dictionary says

About the word friend.

A friend

Is a person I know well.

A friend

Is a person I am fond of.

A friend

Is a close acquaintance.

That’s what I want to be,

A close friend.

Imagine!

God is my friend.

That’s what I want.

I Must Love God

I Trust Those I Love

If I really want to be able

To trust God,

I must get to know Him,

Really know Him.

How do I get to know God?

Perhaps I need to be his friend,

Get closer to God--

Whatever that takes.

It’s all about getting to know God.

The problem now is the words we use.

What does it mean to get closer to God?

Or be His friend?

The goal is to know God.

Whatever words we use to get there is fine.

Get close to God, be his friend,

But just get to know God.

Getting to know God,

It’s the basis for loving God.

The more you love God,

The more you will trust Him.

Know God!

Love God!

Trust God!

That’s a nice combination:

Know, love, trust.

So My Trust in God Will Grow

I Want to Know God Better

I want to know God better,

So I can become His friend.

It will bring me closer to Him.

That’s what I wish.

By becoming God’s friend,

And getting closer to Him,

I will get to know Him better.

That too is what I wish.

He offers all of us His friendship.

It’s up to us to accept it.

I do!

I truly want to become His friend.

Now I have to learn to make that a reality.

I ask God to help me

Become His friend.

Thank You my God for this privilege.

And my Trust in God will Grow as well.

Anxiety Solution One

Why ask for help?

Don’t we all need it?

If you think you don’t,

You may have

An exaggerated opinion of yourself,

That could lead to your downfall.

Or maybe you are just plain foolish,

And you’re not thinking

When you ask for help,

You show wisdom,

And the humility

To acknowledge:

I do not know it all.

I am just a human being.

Sometimes I need help,

But I have the courage to ask for it.

Somewhere in the bible

It is said:

“Ask and you will receive”.

Ask a friend, a family member or someone else,

Or maybe even

Ask God.

We need help,

From anywhere we can get it.
