God is Good

God is good,

That’s all He can be.

He cannot be bad,

Nor evil,

He cannot embody negativity.

Bad, evil and negativity

Involve a lack

Of completeness or perfection.

God can in no way

Ever be lacking, incomplete or imperfect.

It would be inconceivable.

All this perfection regarding

Goodness could only exist in One being.

There cannot be two Gods,

That’s an impossibility.

Yes

God is good! 

Not just a little bit good,

But completely good,

With no being in the Universe

Comparably good.

God is Good!

How Can I Deserve to See God’s Goodness

In this Universe?

Do I have to earn it?

Do I have to be worthy of the privilege

Of seeing God in this universe?

It would indeed be a privilege

To see God everywhere.

Perhaps

The privilege would depend 

Upon how well I served God and did His will.

Why would God allow me to see Him,

If I did not do his bidding?

And if I didn’t know God well enough to obey Him,

Could I really recognize Him?

If I saw a waterfall, 

Would I see it as a gift of God,

Or just a lot of water? 

Perhaps

Seeing God’s goodness in the universe could not happen 

Unless I first knew Him.

And knew Him well.

Then I might be able to recognize Him.

Do I need a template within me

To recognize Him outside of me?

Yes, I do.

If He were within me,

Then I would feel Him outside me.

And then I would know Him and see Him.

Why Can’t I See God’s Goodness?

Am I the only one who’s blind?

That doesn’t seem fair.

What am I doing wrong?

What’s my problem?

What do I have to change?

That’s so sad,

Beauty stands before me

And I don’t even see it. 

I must lack Spiritual Vision,

God’s vision.

All the beauty of the world welcomes me,

And I don’t notice it.

What a shame!

It’s everywhere; but for me, it’s nowhere.

Maybe I need to ask for that vision.

“Ask and you will receive.”

It’s a gift,

Given by the giver of all gifts,

Of all goodness.

Gifts sometimes need to be requested.

I have to ask for the gift,

And I have to deserve it.

Maybe I have to do both.

What do I need to do to deserve it?

We’ll find that out.

Look for God’s Goodness

The Goodness of the universe--

It surrounds us.

All that beauty is before our eyes.

Goodness is everywhere,

And nowhere is it absent.

If that’s true,

We are missing so much.

We are missing the magnificence of our home on earth.

Goodness awaits our discovery,

And the universe wishes to share it.

If we do not see the beauty,

We must be wearing blinders,

What a loss that is, 

What a shame

To be so blind.

All we need to acquire

Is spiritual vision.

What is that?

It’s the ability to view the world as God does.

Ask God for the gift.

When you see the goodness before you,

You will see what truly exists.

When you see negativity you see nothing,

But pain and misery,

Negativity is just a passing shadow.

God’s goodness is real,

Nothing else exists.

Look for His goodness.

It’s never far from love and joy.

Is not found in a whirlwind of activity.

It’s found in the calmness of life and the joy of living.

Is not found in chaos and violence.

It is found wherever there is peace and love.

Peace, love and joy

Are always in a relationship.

They are the source of all that is.

Does that make the source

The essence of life 

And goodness?

That’s a beautiful thought.

You are wished 

Peace, love and joy.

It’s everything.
