Anxiety is an Overreaction

Anxiety is an Overreaction

Love Day

Anxiety is an Overreaction
I realize that because I frequently overreact
I’m beginning to recognize that
And it is not healthy

Overreaction
Involves reacting with more energy than is called for
And it is usually due to strong emotion
Unfortunately strong emotion inhibits rational thinking

Overreaction
Is usually unnecessary
It’s not a good habit
Because it creates anxiety

Overreaction
I sometimes overreact to people
But more generally I overreact within myself
And that’s how I cause my anxiety
Respond
It’s the substitute for reacting
It involves thinking clearly
And calmly

Clarity and calmness
They help prevent overreaction
Choose them
They are much healthier

More to come
Because we need to deal with this
It’s a major cause of anxiety
We need to resolve this tendency
To overreact

  1. How does one learn to inhibit their response, (overreaction) so as to not hurt the people you love the most.

  3. AnxiousEd,
My apologies for the delayed reply! I did not see your questions until now and what good questions they are! Each person's journey is different. A large part of the solution is finding the root cause of the overreaction. Give our office a call if you want to talk! 757-498-9320
