Don’t Think What Isn’t

Don’t Think What Isn’t
8/8/16
Monday

Don’t Think What Isn’t
It’s probably negative
And it doesn’t even exist
Especially if it bothers you
Like what you are worrying about

A worry
Is a good example
It isn’t true
It could become true
But we believe it to be true

That’s the problem
We believe it to be true
But it never is
It doesn’t exist
At the moment we worry

Why waste your time worrying about nothing?

Learn about Anxiety

This Book
Is a Course on Anxiety
Anxiety

It’s a disturbing experience,
A dis-ease,
It can be very uncomfortable.

Most people tend to acquire anxiety,
At least to some degree,
If not to a very uncomfortable degree.

The poems in this book
Are designed to help you understand
And cope better with your worries.

This book is meant to provide you
With insight and encouragement,
And a way out of the valley of distress.

That’s where the anxiety demons dwell.
You don’t want to spend time with them.
They make life miserable.

Your Unique 16 Step Anxiety Reduction Course

Your Unique 16 Step Anxiety Reduction Course
7/30/16
Saturday

As we have said in the previous poem,
You are the teacher of this course.
It’s your own private classroom.
The 16 Steps provide the course content.
You are the guide.

You make all the decisions
On how the course unfolds.
You can do the steps in any order you prefer.
You can skip around.
It’s your show.

You know what you like.
You know what works for you.
Do what feels good,
What gets results.
You’re the teacher.

What makes this course so special?
It’s your own personal journey.
You hold the rudder.
You steer the ship.
You are the captain.

Why does He Get Anxious Repeatedly?

Why does He Get Anxious Repeatedly?
6/18/16
Saturday
Step Eight

Why Does He Get Anxious Repeatedly?

And especially why does he get anxious
Again and again over the same thing?
What is he trying to do to himself?
Is he trying to torture himself?
I don’t think anxiety is much fun.

But tomorrow he repeats it again.
He’ll punishes himself again.
He’ll allow the anxiety demons
To have their fun,
Because he just doesn’t seem to be able to help himself.

This is the third stanza
Of this poem.
I’ll bet he’s learned by now,
And won’t fall into the anxiety trap again.
Oh no! He fell into it again.

This is the last stanza
Of our poem.
I’m sure by now
He’s learned not to get anxious again
Uh-oh, he didn’t learn

I don’t think this was a very good poem
