The way out of my anxiety
Is to take ownership of it.
It’s my anxiety.
I am the cause of it.

It’s my responsibility to deal with it.
It’s not yours to do,
It’s mine.
I am the way out.

I have the keys to the kingdom,
Where love and peace and joy reside.
Only I can turn the key,
Only I can do it.

And I will.
I will find the way out,
No matter what it takes.
I will do it.

In its extreme form,
We refer to it as panic.

We write a separate chapter on anxiety
Because it is the main issue of the book,
Anxiety and its treatment.

Anxiety is the most prevalent
Of all mental health issues.
It causes a great deal of stress in people’s lives.

It may be fair to say, that everyone
Has been affected to some degree
By anxiety.

In this chapter It is our goal
To help people
Understand anxiety.

The next chapter
Will help people
Deal with their anxiety.

They are both the same.
The goal is the same:
Love, peace and Joy

What we are saying is,
Anxiety reduction
Takes the same path as
Healthy living takes.
There is no difference,
Just the names.

Both paths will produce
A healthy life,
Physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
The path will be your path,
Because this is a self-development program.
You are the director of the program.

All I have done,
Is give you 16 steps,
To choose as you wish,
How you wish and when you wish
I am merely your guide
You are the master of your destiny

This is the sixteenth Solution
On the anxiety solution list

What’s the way out of anxiety?
WORK!
That’s what it will take
To release your anxiety.
You’re going to have to work.

By work we mean,
It will take motivation,
A lot of energy,
And commitment,
To our new anxiety program

During these previous sixteen days,
We have posted sixteen
Anxiety reducing solutions.
We will now call them
“Anxiety releasing solutions”.

These sixteen solutions
Will become the heart of the our anxiety program,
Which  we will use in counseling,
And which also can be used
Outside the counseling setting.

The program will involve
Addressing the anxiety solutions
We have been posting the last sixteen days.
It will be called
The 16 Step Anxiety Program.

Tomorrow we will further discuss this program.
I believe it will make your life much easier.

“Do your Part”
This is the fifteenth solution
On our anxiety solution list

There is no anxiety solution without me.
Only I can solve the riddle.
Only I have the ultimate solution.
Only I am in charge of my life,
And of my anxiety.

Thank you for giving me the wisdom
To heal my anxiety.
The wisdom is already within me.
It has always been there.
I have always been able to be the master of my destiny.

So has it been ordained
From all eternity.
I am able to do—
All I need to do.
The answer is within me.

My task is to search within,
And find the answer.
It awaits my discovery.
I have the wisdom,
And the energy to make the needed changes.

Do I have the motivation
To use the energy,
And tap the wisdom?
In order to be healed
I must say
I do!

Anxiety Solutions
 
“Focus on the Present”
This is the third solution
On our anxiety solution list.

This present moment is all that exists,
Nothing else does.
Neither the past—It’s gone forever.
Nor the future—it hasn’t arrived.

All that exists is “now”.
Why fret over what no longer exists?
It makes no sense.
It’s nonsense. It’s unreal.

Then let’s be masters of the moment.
And the only way to master it,
Is to embrace it, love it
And live it.

This moment is perfect.
It possesses all you need
To succeed.
Nurture this moment.

Mindfulness
It’s the magic of being in this very moment.
It’s not the here, there and everywhere of anxiety.
It’s the now of peace and calm.

Anxiety cannot exist in mindfulness’ presence.
They are opposites.
They cannot live together.
Choose the now of mindfulness.

It’s the present.

Anxiety solution
 
“Believe your wisdom will take care of you”.
This is the second solution
On our anxiety solution list.

“Your wisdom”
What is that?
It’s something within you,
And it’s at your disposal.

But where did it come from?
Of course, it came from within you,
But who put it there?
God?

You can give it another name,
Other than God.
It’s your wisdom.
It’s your choice.

It doesn’t matter.
It’s only a name.
You may give it a thousand different names,
But they all may mean the same.

Believe!
That may be easier said than done.
We’re not used to just believing.
How do I believe?

Who or what can I depend upon?
Use the name of your choice.
Since the wisdom is within you,
Maybe It can be depended upon.

Remember!
Believing doesn’t bring absolute certainty.
That’s called “knowing,”
That’s not believing.

Believe in the Being behind the name you use.
Believe!
And it will happen.
Maybe not the way you envisioned it.

But you will find answers,
And they will be
Anxiety Solutions
Believe me!

Ask for help from the wisdom within you.
This is the first solution
On our anxiety solution list.

Don’t we all need help?
There’s never anything wrong with asking for help,
Especially if you ask the right person.
It could be
God,
Your higher power,
Your inner life force,
The Spirit within.
Ask someone greater than you.

But you can’t ask for help,
If you don’t believe it will be given to you.
That’s the challenge!
You must trust and believe
That magnificent being,
That one above them all,
As you believe that one to be,
The Force,
The One.

Be humble!
Ask!
Help is available.
It awaits you specifically.
It calls out your name.
Listen, listen, listen,
Be still,
And you will hear that beautiful melodious voice.

--Avoid the persons, places and things associated with anxiety.
--Use the anxiety/calmness scale.
--Uncover the negative thoughts that create anxiety.
--Put energy into the process of finding solutions.

And if you do all this,
You will be free of anxiety,
And I will walk you through this
In the next month and beyond.
